4th advent calendar door: Canon - Premium binoculars

The high-contrast premium binoculars with 10x magnification feature Canon's L series precision optics with 2 UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lenses and Super Spectra coating for an extremely clear view. The 4.2 mm exit pupil ensures a bright and clear image even in low-light conditions, the subject appears 10x closer and brighter, making the binoculars ideal for stargazing. In accordance with the JIS-7 specification, the binoculars are waterproof, making them suitable for even the most demanding outdoor use. The robust outer shell is made of metal and is waterproof for up to 90 minutes, making the binoculars ideal for use on and around water. The rubber armouring and high grip in damp conditions make them the ideal companion for any adventure. To prevent fogging on the inner lenses, all outer surfaces have a special metal coating.

Canon's Image Stabiliser (IS) technology ensures an impressively steady image, as the IS compensates for a variety of unwanted wobbles that occur when holding the camera unsupported or in moving vehicles and boats. Tiny gyro sensors detect even slight vibrations; the Canon Vari-Angle Prism (VAP) image stabiliser works with a microprocessor, which moves the prisms so that they correct the angle of incidence of the light accordingly.

The binoculars offer a pleasant field of view and a bright, razor-sharp, levelled and distortion-free view from the centre of the image to the edge with a generous 59.2° apparent field of view and two Canon field flattening lenses. Thanks to the 16 mm rear exit pupil, the binoculars are also ideal for spectacle wearers.

The eyepieces are fitted with adjustable rubber eyecups that can be customised for comfortable and balanced use. The rotary mechanism for focussing can be conveniently operated with one finger with either hand. A special lock prevents accidental adjustment of the dioptre setting of the eyepiece.
