The Hamburg-based design, construction and management centre celebrates its 25th anniversary. A look back.

Felix Dölker and Robert Voges, two master carpenters from Münster, decided to set up their own company, Dölker + Voges (D+V), in 1997. One of the office's focal points at the time was - and still is today - net room planning, i.e. working out the room volume that is actually available for the interior fit-out. In this segment, D+V's impressive list of references includes formats such as the 143 metre long "Sailing Yacht A", the 156 metre Lürssen "Dilbar" and the "Azzam", currently the world's longest yacht at 180 metres.

"I think back with a smile to the time when Felix Dölker and I set up our own business 25 years ago with the intention of working just the two of us in order to remain as flexible and free as possible. Fortunately, it turned out surprisingly quickly that we couldn't keep to this plan and I can celebrate the 25th anniversary year with an excellently trained and highly motivated team," Robert Voges looks back. His business partner Felix Dölker died unexpectedly at the end of 2018 at the age of just 57.

Meanwhile, the orders that D+V is working on continue, and some new projects are being added, which the 17-strong team is working on as diligently as ever. "We realised from the outset that Felix could not be replaced. But we quickly realised that we had to adapt our structure. We have now put together a management team from our own long-standing core team who know exactly what Dölker + Voges stands for and what our work philosophy is. Our studio has now been restructured and is working very well," reports Robert Voges with satisfaction in the latest BOOTE EXCLUSIV article.

In addition to all the technical aspects of yacht building that D+V looks after, which include netspace planning, interior management of shipyards and final equipment supervision of new builds, the Hamburg studio has gradually made a name for itself as a yacht designer in terms of both interior and exterior design. "Over the years, our design department has been involved in the design of numerous new yachts, some of which have caused a sensation beyond the superyacht world," says Voges proudly, who was involved with his team in the complete conceptualisation of "Sailing Yacht A".

In the meantime, Dölker + Voges has been involved in more than 100 yacht projects such as "Fulk Al Salamah", "Aquijo" and has meticulously expanded its experience and expertise in the areas of design, management and construction.
