Mercury Marine is working with the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) to promote greater safety on the water with a new campaign. The campaign is aimed specifically at newly qualified boaters who have successfully passed the examination for a boating or sailing licence from 1 January 2024: Anyone who purchases a new Mercury outboard motor with a power output of 25 hp or more between 1 March 2025 and 28 February 2026 will receive two Mercury life jackets free of charge.
Safety comes first
The initiative is supported by the Deutscher Motoryachtverband e.V. (DMYV) via its information channels and ideally to emphasise the importance of personal safety equipment when starting out in water sports. Mercury Marine is the DMYV's official engine partner for equipping boats for youth and competitive sports. "Safety on the water is our top priority. With this campaign, we not only want to offer new boat owners high-performance engines, but also actively sensitise them to the issue of safety," explains Uli Schäfer, Country Manager Mercury Marine Germany/Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg/Switzerland.

How the campaign works
- Registration: Interested parties can register online with Mercury and select their new Mercury engine from 25 hp.
- Code received: Mercury Marine will send a personalised promo code by e-mail.
- Redeem voucher code: When purchasing the engine from a participating dealer, the code is presented together with the boat licence (dated from 01.01.2024) - and the two life jackets are included free of charge.
