You can also have a lot of fun with small boats.
The annual operating costs are always a hot topic of discussion. We use three examples to show how much you have to spend on boating. We chose a 3.80 metre inflatable boat (Yam), an 18-foot bowrider (Larson 180 Sport) and a 26-foot cabin cruiser (Nidelv 26).
What, you have a boat, then you must have plenty of money! It can hardly be denied that boating is not one of the cheapest sports, but it is by no means true that you have to be a millionaire.
It doesn't always have to be a new boat. Used boats are usually the first choice for newcomers to try out, because if you don't have a clear idea of the right boat yet, you are taking less of a risk with a used one.
However, it is not only the purchase costs that are decisive, but also the maintenance costs.
To find out the latter, we chose three sample boats and asked marinas, winter storage centres and service companies for prices.
