"Our clubs do valuable charitable work every day - on a voluntary basis, with commitment and great passion," emphasises Uwe Gerlach, President of the Saxony-Anhalt Motorboat Sports Association, DMYV Executive Committee member and head of the DMYV's popular sports, regional associations and clubs department. "All clubs should have the opportunity to benefit equally from the funding." With transparent application procedures and clear funding criteria, the DMYV creates fair conditions for its member clubs and regional associations.
Following a decision by the DMYV Executive Committee, the guidelines have now been amended to the effect that a club whose project was funded in one year will only be eligible to apply again after a waiting period of one year. "The regulation serves to ensure fairness and equal opportunities among the clubs and regional associations and that the greatest possible diversity can be supported," explains Uwe Gerlach.
Funding is provided in the form of a grant of up to 75 per cent of the project costs - up to a maximum of €2,000 per measure - and the achievement of a maximum total funding amount that is budgeted in the DMYV budget each year. Funding is provided on a pro rata basis for expenses such as personnel, sports equipment, travel costs, meals, accommodation and organisation. A prerequisite is that the project organisers make their own contribution and that the measures are carried out in an environmentally friendly manner.
With this guideline, the German Motor Yacht Association once again underlines its role as a reliable partner of organised water sports: for the promotion of young talent, community, innovation and responsible action on the water.
