Description of the
What to do when the inflatable boat changes hands? There were those darned numbers and letters written on it in felt-tip pen...

Here we are dealing with an old problem: an inflatable boat bought second-hand, now it needs to be renamed, which is a must on inland waterways. And anyone who is familiar with inflatable boats will realise the difficulty of attaching waterproof letters and/or numbers to both sides of the tube.

Because normal adhesive letters don't stick, some people resort to the simple "felt-tip pen method" and draw the labelling themselves. Using the example of a Wiking Komet, we show how to elegantly get rid of an annoying felt-tip pen painting.we obtained pieces of Hypalon boat skin, the corresponding "rubber letters" made of the same material and the 2-component adhesive from Wiking (Carlsdorfer Str. 10, 34369 Hofgeismar, www.wiking-schlauchboote.de ).

Xylene is needed to clean the intended adhesive area. As it cannot be sent by post, we bought it from the pharmacy.
