The Jachtbouw 2000 shipyard produces steel and plastic cabin cruisers in the Netherlands. The steel boats are called "Success" or "Aqua Motorjachts" and are traditional displacement boats.
The plastic boats bear the name "Marco" and have been around since 1979 with a brief interruption. The shipyard currently produces five models from 8 m to 10 m in length with a bow cabin and open cockpit or, as with our 9 m long test boat Marco 8.60 AK, with an additional aft cabin.
The 8.60 AK has a fuselage which, depending on the engine, can be used either as a displacer or a glider. The drive is always the same: motor, gearbox and shaft system in one row.
Our test boat is one of the first modified 8.60 AKs. This has an impact on the workmanship because the boat had to be finished "at the last minute" for a spring trade fair, as the shipyard assures us. However, if we were to give it a school grade, our test boat would still not get above a "3+" in terms of workmanship.
