The Turkish shipyard Bering Marine has developed a high-performance naval vessel with the construction of its new hydrofoil-supported catamaran, the 50 SE (Swift Exploration Craft).

Bering Marine has started construction of the 50 SE (Swift Exploration Craft). The hydrofoil-supported catamaran is designed to reach speeds of up to 40 knots. Four diesel engines, each with 294 kilowatts, operate at full load. The fuel capacity of 3,400 litres enables a range of 700 nautical miles at a speed of 25 to 35 knots.

Bering builds for European customers

The Turkish shipyard based in the Antalya yacht building centre is primarily targeting owners who want to go on longer day trips or fishing trips. The BM50 will take around twelve months to build and the number one is being built for a European customer who is targeting the Mediterranean.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
