The Canados Heritage 36' is a sports catamaran from Italy that is now available for the first time in North and South America.
Two Mercury outboards with 300 hp each power the Heritage 36'. The engines are V8 units from the Verado series. According to the manufacturer, the boat has a top speed of 52 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots. Thanks to the catamaran design, fuel consumption is said to be around 30 per cent lower than that of monohull boats of a similar size. Canados claims a range of up to 600 nautical miles. The fuel tank holds 900 litres and the fresh water tank 200 litres.
The delivered model has a single-cabin configuration. The wet room is located on the port side and the cabin on the starboard side. Both rooms are accessible through large hinged doors. The boat is approved for up to 16 passengers and fulfils CE category C. The unladen weight is 5,500 kilograms. The width is 3.85 metres.
There are two large aft benches in the cockpit. A U-shaped arrangement can be selected as an option, offering space for up to 20 people. Two dining tables each offer space for eight guests. There is storage space under the benches. Two pull-out fridges are installed under the seats in the dining area. A sink is located in the front seating area opposite the steering position. There is room for four more people and a sun canopy provides shade.
A galley configuration with refrigerator, freezer compartment, ice machine and grill is available as an option. A hardtop bimini provides protection from the sun, while an open version without a roof is also available. A retractable bathing ladder is integrated at the stern, which also serves as a gangway for mooring.
Canados is planning further versions of the Heritage 36'. A closed version for colder climates is in preparation. In addition, a fishing version with a fish container, cold store for catches, rod holders and a permanently installed fishing chair is planned. These versions are aimed at different regional markets.
The boat had its American premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2025. During Miami Art Week in December 2025, Revolution Marine Group presented the Heritage 36' as a floating art installation. New York artist Bradley Theodore designed the boat hull with a wrap in his signature style. Theodore has previously worked with brands such as Puma, Rolls-Royce and Lego. The boat was used for private tours and cruises and was part of the Art of the Sea programme in cooperation with the Sexy Fish Miami restaurant.

Editor Test & Technology
Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
