The Eli-Combat 65 combines the stability of a catamaran with the function of a helipad at a length of 19.50 metres. The 76 square metre landing platform also accommodates drones. The concept by designer Amadio & Partners, realised by Catamarano Italia and built by Comar, is aimed at operations in open waters. The ship serves as a base for search and rescue missions, emergency medical operations and firefighting at sea.
The cabins offer space for three crew members, while stowage compartments hold equipment for rescue and maintenance teams. A tender lift system enables transfer to ships and platforms without their own landing site. The lighting and signalling systems allow take-offs and landings around the clock. The shallow draught makes near-shore operations possible.
The Eli-Combat 65 covers various mission scenarios. Search and rescue missions benefit from the helicopter platform's rapid response capability. Medical evacuations can be coordinated directly from the ship. Firefighting at sea is just as much a part of its remit as civil defence operations. Coastguards can use the ship for patrols and interventions. Humanitarian organisations use it for aid missions.
Maintenance and support teams for helicopters and drones will find the necessary infrastructure and three cabins on board. A tender provides access to coastal areas and harbours in the surrounding area. Commercial and tourist services can also be realised.
The composite construction combines low weight with high strength. Thanks to its 9.17 metre width, the cat is stable enough for flight operations. Two engine variants are available: 2 × 221 kW or 2 × 625 kW. The fuel tank holds 6,000 litres and the water tank 800 litres.
A tender lift system lifts tenders on board. The lighting system fulfils the requirements for night flights and signalling systems mark the landing zone. The platform offers sufficient space for maintenance work on helicopters and drones. All instruments meet the standards for maritime rescue operations.
