59 metres, 30 guests - Stefano Pastrovich wants to bring yachting and boutique cruising together with the aluminium cat "Xpagoda". The designer modelled the look on East Asian architecture.

The concept is intended to appeal to the "millionaire next door" - people with a handful of millions in their bank account, but who can neither afford USD 50 to 70 million for a 60-metre yacht nor a weekly charter rate of around USD 400,000, but can afford the USD 2,000 per person per night for a suite on a boutique charter yacht.

A flexible, modular layout adapts the cat to various requirements, such as those of large families, co-owners, private clubs or property funds. With enough space for 20 to 24 guests in ten to twelve luxury suites or up to 30 guests in 15 economy cabins, "Xpagoda" is designed to make Generation X happy, who prefer to diversify their holidays rather than tie themselves to expensive real estate. When travelling, they avoid the crowds and look for shorter cruise experiences - naturally with all the comforts such as a sauna and fitness room, various pools and bars.

The overhangs are reminiscent of pagodas

The pillar structure on the cat hulls creates an airy profile with large panoramic glass surfaces and overhanging decks. This principle provides plenty of shade during the day, which also protects the air conditioning systems. The aluminium structure of "Xpagoda" was developed by the designers at Chartwell Marine together with the classification society RINA for 12 to 36 passengers. The material not only reduces the weight, but also the draught - after all, the ultra-shallow waters of the Bahamas are a popular destination for the well-heeled.
