Frauscher and Porsche cement their collaboration with the 790 Spectre. The powertrain of the all-electric runabout is based on the Macan Turbo, of which Porsche presented the Lago design study. The new Cayenne Electric is set to take off as the towing vehicle.

Teak rod deck connects! At least the new Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre and the Macan Turbo Concept Lago. Both the boat and the concept vehicle are to have grouted wooden floors, on deck as well as in the cockpit, rear and boot. The co-operation between land and sea began with the Frauscher X Porsche 850 Fantom Air. The E-Runabout, developed from scratch, was presented by Porsche and the Austrian boat builder at boot Düsseldorf 2026.

Electric boat with Porsche drive

The electric drivetrain of the Macan Turbo served as the basis for the development of the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre. The boat was developed around the high-voltage battery, the rear axle motor and the control electronics of the all-electric Macan Turbo in the same way as the Stuttgart-based carmaker built its Taycan, Macan and Cayenne Electric models. The engineers utilised the resulting degrees of freedom to get the technological optimum out of the concept. The result should be a light, agile and efficient sports boat. Frauscher has designed a completely new hull for the 790 Spectre, which is lighter, shorter and narrower than previous models. The drive module with 100 kWh battery and up to 400 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors (PSM) has remained largely unchanged.

Unifying design language

The 7.97 metre long runabout also reflects the design signature of the sports car brand. To underline this connection, Porsche's "Exclusive Manufaktur" has extensively customised a concept vehicle based on the Macan Turbo. The boat and SUV would enter into a design dialogue via numerous exterior and interior features, thus combining the worlds of road and water into a common design language.

The paint finish in Lago green metallic comes from Porsche's "Colour of your choice" programme and demonstrates the extensive customisation options offered by both manufacturers. In the 790 Spectre, this colour is applied in a total of eleven coats. Another striking design element are the sideblades, which on the Macan Turbo Concept Lago are finished with the lettering "Frauscher x Porsche" in body colour and on the show boat with the "electric" emblem in high-gloss black.

Interior with reciprocal references

The cross-connections continue in the interior. In true sports car style, the start button of the 790 Spectre is located to the left of the steering wheel. The sporty Porsche DNA is also evident in the steering wheel itself and in the five round instruments with typical graphics. The steering wheel covered in Porsche imitation leather and the sports seats for the driver and front passenger bear the legendary crest. The design of the rear seat bench with its vertical stitching is also based on the seat design of road vehicles.

The 790 Spectre has also left its mark on the Macan Turbo Concept Lago. Both the front (frunk) and rear luggage compartments and the floors of the interior are clad in real wood. A compass forms the highest point of the cockpit instead of the Sport Chrono clock, and the seat centre panels are adorned with marine fabrics. Porsche's Exclusive designers even came up with a customised vehicle key in Lago green metallic.

Cayenne Electric as towing vehicle

"The Macan Turbo Concept Lago and the 790 Spectre take the collaboration between Frauscher and Porsche to a new level," says Jörg Kerner, Head of the Macan model series. "Together with our Austrian colleagues, we are showing how e-performance, design and individualisation can merge into a shared world of experience across brands."

The Macan Turbo Concept Lago only exists as a design study for the time being, but Porsche also presented the new Cayenne Electric in Düsseldorf. The second all-electric SUV releases up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) in the Turbo version and, with a maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, should be suitable as a towing vehicle. The Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre, which is available from 608,685 euros, can also already be configured.
