The famous trident is now also conquering lakes and the sea. After the automobile brands Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Aston Martin and Lexus, the Italian brand Maserati, which belongs to Stellantis, is now joining the ranks of boat builders. Together with the young company Vita Power, the Italians, known for their curvy and powerful sports cars, have developed the 10.50 metre long electric dayboat Tridente.

590 hp provide impressive acceleration

Vita Power and Maserati share the same vision for the mobility of the future, without compromising on performance and elegance. While the recently presented all-electric Gran Cabrio Folgore with 750 hp attracts attention on the road, the 4.5 tonne Tridente leaves its competitors behind on the water. Similar to e-drives on tarmac, the power transmission of the e-boat is immediate and so powerful that Vita Power boss Luisa Bonello recommends her guests to sit down when starting off quickly. Indeed, anyone who pushes the command buttons all the way down will be amazed at the impressive acceleration and balanced handling. And without any exhaust odour or noise. All you can hear is a quiet whirring of the two radial flux e-motors, which together deliver 440 kilowatts. These transmit their power to two Konrad 560 dual prop units. "We also tried other Z-drives, but the power transmission was too direct and it was the robust Konrad drives that won us over," explains Luisa Bonello.

45 nautical miles range and Supercharger charging function

Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 252 kilowatt hours provide a range of 45 nautical miles. "That's more than enough for most dayboat applications," says Luisa Bonelli. "For example, it's 16 nautical miles from Monaco to Antibes and 25 nautical miles to Cannes. Once round Capri it's just nine nautical miles. And if you sail the length of Lago di Como, you cover 17 nautical miles." Owners who want to return to Monaco after lunch in Cannes use the fast charging station in the Vieux Port and charge the batteries to up to 80 per cent in just 48 minutes. "We have also already installed fast-charging stations on private jetties and on superyachts," reveals the Vita Power Managing Director. "This gives owners maximum freedom."

Small cabin for spontaneous overnight stays

The 40-knot glider was designed by the BorromeodeSilva studio, which worked closely with the Maserati design team. The carbon boat was built by the US shipyard Hodgdon Yachts, which specialises in superyacht tenders, and the engineers at Vita Power were responsible for integrating all the technical components.

The Maserati Tridente offers plenty of space for up to ten people in a spacious cockpit and on the aft deck. The windscreen of the open power format is impressive, and even at maximum power and 40 knots top speed, conversations in the cockpit can be held at a low volume. For spontaneous overnight stops with friends or in a bay, there is a small, low cabin with a queen-size bed, toilet and washbasin. Air conditioning is not provided, but can be retrofitted on request.

Price of the Maserati Tridente: 2.5 million euros

The owners of the Maserati Tridente will particularly enjoy the immediately available power of 440 kilowatts. Construction number 1 was presented just a few days ago and is for sale for 2.5 million euros.
