The sun is shining, and so is the skipper! The climate-friendly boat from the shipyard in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is set to complete an extended maiden voyage in 2018
There are supporters and funding commitments - if everything works out, the project of the Boat builder from the Müritz on a tour of Europe next year. The newly developed boat will be powered entirely by the sun and feed electricity into the harbour rather than consume it. Powered by a 10 kW electric motor with a rotating saildrive, the 9-metre-long boat should be able to reach speeds of up to 20 km/h for short periods and have a range of more than 100 km at cruising speed (12 km/h). A cockpit and two fixed berths are standard.
