The Sialia 45 is about to make its debut: The Polish shipyard plans to launch its first purely electric 14-metre model this autumn. With a long range, modular layouts and sustainable materials, the yacht is positioning itself as a pioneering performance cruiser.

The Sialia 45 is powered by two 300 kW engines, which enable a top speed of 43 knots. The standard battery (500 kWh) provides enough energy for 55 nautical miles at 25 knots. If you choose the optional "Endurance Pack" with a further 200 kWh, you can cover around 77 nautical miles. In addition, biodiesel-compatible range extenders can be installed, which can increase the range to up to 240 nautical miles.

Charging takes place using the fast-charging function: it takes just over two and a half hours to charge from 10 to 90 per cent with the standard battery, and around three and a half hours with the larger pack.

Carbon construction

Sialia uses advanced carbon technologies for the hull construction. The use of various infusion processes results in a lightweight yet extremely stable hull. The sandwich construction with epoxy resin not only ensures strength, but also significant noise and vibration damping - a particular advantage on longer journeys.

Flexible layouts

The Sialia 45 is available in three versions. The Runabout variant has a low windscreen and open deck. The Sport version relies on a centre console layout with a continuous windscreen and top. The Weekender version offers a glazed deck cabin that can be closed aft to create an air-conditioned saloon.

Below deck, all versions have a full wet room with shower and a choice of galley or additional saloon. Different equipment levels allow you to choose between a sporty, practical character and a superyacht-level finish.

Focus on sustainability

In addition to the electric drive, Sialia emphasises environmentally friendly materials. The standard floor covering is made from recycled cork, supplemented by other recycled or recyclable components. The electric motors themselves are virtually maintenance-free: the grease only needs to be changed after ten years. The batteries are designed for 3,000 charging cycles and are guaranteed for five years.

The dawn of a new era

With the 45 series, Sialia Yachts shows that electric drives are no longer just suitable for small dayboats. Range, performance and comfort should prove that emission-free yachting also works in the performance segment. The premiere in autumn marks an important step towards a more sustainable future in boatbuilding.

Editor Test & Technology

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
