Volare Boats is a new company entering the market for electric sports and leisure boats. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, the shipyard unveiled its first model in November 2025: the Artemis 23, a 23-foot, all-electric dayboat. The boat was developed by a team of former Scout Boats engineers and managers.

The Artemis 23 is designed as a versatile day boat and is aimed at owners who value quiet operation, reduced maintenance and a modern operating concept. Volare describes the model as a completely newly developed platform that was designed for electric drive technology from the outset.

The central feature of the Volare is the all-electric drive with a class-leading battery range according to the manufacturer. However, specific performance or range figures have not yet been published. Energy is supplied by modular battery systems designed for efficiency and simple integration.

Volare relies on a 360-degree joystick system for manoeuvring, which should enable precise control both when docking and at low speeds. The aim is to achieve intuitive operation to simplify the handling of the boat.

Hull concept and construction

The hull of the Artemis 23 consists of a lightweight composite structure and was developed in collaboration with ship designers. An integrated hydrofoil system is designed to increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption during the journey. Volare emphasises that the hull, foil and drive are designed as a complete system.

Development and production take place in Charleston. The company's founding team has decades of experience in series boat construction, particularly in the field of sporty motorboats.

Layout and utilisation concept

As a dayboat, the Artemis 23 offers an open, ergonomic layout designed for day trips and short voyages. According to the shipyard, a conscious effort was made to reduce complex systems in the design in order to minimise maintenance and operating complexity. The boat should be as uncomplicated as possible to use from the moment you cast off until you return to the jetty.

Market launch and outlook

Volare Boats is currently accepting reservations for the Artemis 23. The first production series is limited. At the same time, the company is building up a dealer and service network and is targeting the growing market for high-quality, electrically powered leisure boats with this model.
