The Swedish electric boat manufacturer X Shore is picking up speed again after its insolvency in 2025. Under new management and with financially strong owners, the shipyard is presenting itself at the Palma Boat Show. Production is already underway again.

X Shore is one of the pioneers in the field of electric pleasure craft. The Swedish shipyard had to file for insolvency in 2025, but is now standing on its own two feet again. Norwegian entrepreneur Staale Reiersen took over the manufacturer's production facilities and warehouse at the beginning of 2026. Shipyard founder René Hansen remains on board as CEO and announced the company's return to the market in April.

New owners with staying power

According to the shipyard, it now has a solid financial basis. The new owners should have sufficient capital to achieve both short-term and long-term goals. In recent months, the focus has been on stabilising the company and securing all ownership rights. This restructuring has now been completed, Hansen said on LinkedIn.

Presence at the Palma Boat Show

Just a few days after the first signs of life on the website and in social media, the shipyard made its presence felt at the Palma Boat Show. The German distributor M-Yachts has been operating the Mallorca Electric Boat Club on Mallorca since 2025. There, interested parties can experience the electric boats from X Shore on a day charter or use them via an exclusive club model.

Electric sports boats from Sweden

X Shore builds electric sports boats with a focus on design and sustainability. The boats use electric motors that are significantly quieter than combustion engines. The battery systems enable different ranges depending on the model and driving style. The shipyard relies on high-quality materials and modern production techniques.

Production restarted

The production facilities in Sweden have resumed operations. X Shore is working together with established partners. The company has not yet announced how many boats it intends to deliver this year. The website is active again and shows the current model programme.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
