It is good practice for brand collaborations that both parties contribute their respective design languages. The "Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63" even incorporates the brand's history. The length of 63 feet refers to the year Automobili Lamborghini was founded, 1963. The Italian sports car manufacturer, which previously produced tractors, has been part of Volkswagen AG since 1998.
The first 19.20 metre long and 5.50 metre wide fruit of this collaboration has now been launched, naturally with a bull emblem on the stern. In terms of design, the exterior is modelled on the sensual, angular shapes of the cult models Miura and Countach designed by Marcello Gandini. The fully glazed hardtop reflects the curved windscreens of Lamborghini's roadsters.
Tecnomar, a brand of The Italian Sea Group, contributed its own design expertise, for example in the sword-shaped window strip. The shipyard group from Carrara regularly relies on the services of the in-house design office led by architect Gian Marco Campanino, most recently for the strikingly differently shaped "Geco" (55 metres). The common technological denominator between Tecnomar and Lamborghini is the Sián FKP 37 hybrid super sports car - at least as far as the consistent carbon construction, the futuristic steering position and the LEDs at the front in the shape of a ypsilon are concerned.
However, the 24-tonne yacht counterpart does without the Sián's new supercapacitor and instead relies on a conventional drive consisting of two twelve-cylinder engines from MAN, each with an output of 1471 kilowatts. This should make 60 knots possible. The start-stop switches - one per unit - are exactly the same as those used in Lamborghini's vehicles. It will also be pressed in 2021 MMA champion Conor McGregorwho has secured build number twelve. The Irish martial artist. Tecnomar will produce a total of 63 units in Marina di Carrara - just like Lamborghini did with the Sián FKP 37 model.
