"Lady Lene" was created for an owner who was represented by the US firm YachtCreators and who had already had the boat built by Van der Valk. He attached great importance to a barrier-free environment, with a lift connecting all decks at its centre. Sharp corners and edges were also avoided, both inside and out.
Dutch designer Guido de Groot says of the exterior: "I made the first sketches for 'Lady Lene' around Christmas two years ago - a really short period of time to build such a large and complex yacht." De Groot collaborated with Carla Guilhem for the interior. The Brazilian-born architect describes the interiors as: "Calm, inviting and liveable. Our idea was that the owner and his family could feel at home there for a long time." The layout is correspondingly informal, with two VIP and two children's cabins as well as an owner's suite on the bridge deck and one amidships on the lowest deck.
The aluminium format was calculated by Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design. With two MAN diesels producing a total of 2426 kilowatts, the 34-metre yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 18 knots. Van der Valk intends to hand over "Lady Lene" to the owner this year.
