With the Admiral 35 "Be Cool", Cantieri Navali Lavagna built an aggressive glider in the Dini design.

You have to look twice here. The unsuspecting run the risk of being hopelessly embarrassed in the "Be Cool" salon. Even at second glance, there is furniture here that doesn't seem to go together at all. Opposite a leather sofa in English club style with a matching footstool, a casual fabric-covered three-seater hangs against the wall of the superstructure. Next to it, two small armchairs with zebra-look upholstery vie for attention. Opposite them, a sofa offers its comfort that could just as easily have stood in a student dormitory in the seventies, if it wasn't the "Charlotte" dormeuse from Baxter.

What looks so random here and would pass as a storeroom to untrained guests is an eclectic arrangement that Studio Magazzini Associati in Rome came up with under the guidance of Guiseppina Arena, the CNL shipyard manager responsible for the interior design of the 35-metre aluminium glider of an owner who apparently has a rather unusual orientation. He not only loves one of Warhol's Monroe motifs, which he had hung in the dining room. He also likes a Mao Warhol in the saloon and a profile of Commandante Che Guevara made from small lights. He had this put up in the VIP suite on the lower deck.

In short, the man likes the tried and tested unconventional. This includes metal veneers, titanium-coated sideboards and an open-air fitness centre. But that's not the point of the tour, because there is still plenty to see inside the fast glider, even here in the saloon. At the aft end in front of the etched electric sliding doors to the cockpit, the interior designers have concealed the entertainment electronics behind a wall-high mirror. This serves not only for narcissism, but also as a projection surface for disco lighting or aquarium simulations.
