Showdown on berth T05: The 67-metre-long supply ship "Garcon" moored at the premium spot T-Jetty and attracted a lot of attention with its unusual design. The shadow boat built by Damen Shipyards, the parent company of the Amels superyacht shipyard, is part of the 87 metre "Ace", which Lürssen has just handed over to its owner.
The shipyard has already delivered two smaller units of the "Sea Axe" model in the past, but these were too small for the customer of the "Garcon", a Sea Axe 6711, with a length of 51 metres. On "Garcon", he stows tenders from J Craft, several RIBs and a 5-tonne helicopter, among other things. The yacht, of which Amels is currently building two units, also serves as a transporter for catering, spare parts and fuel. Amels spokesman Victor Caminada: "A real showstopper."
