Shortly before boot Düsseldorf in January 2025, the Nimbus Group is presenting a new boat. However, it is not a Nimbus model, but the new Aquador 400 HT. We have already been able to view it and show you the first pictures.

The Aquador 400 HT is the new flagship of the Finnish shipyard - and they have remained true to themselves. Both the Aquador 250 HT and the 300 hard-top were good examples of how raising the hull sides and building a positive stem can create more volume in the interior. This principle has definitely been transferred to the new 40-foot flagship and is a typical design element for the Finnish shipyard.

The boat is built in Poland at the Model Art shipyard, where all the small Nimbus models such as the C8 or the W11 are manufactured. We were also impressed during our visit to the shipyard. To be honest, boats from Poland often have a worse reputation than they actually deserve. But like everywhere else, qualified specialists and high-quality work are the key to success. The Nimbus models and in particular the largest boat ever built by Aquador - the 400 Hardtop - are the best example of this.

Layout of the Aquador 400HT

With a length of 12.10 metres and a width of 3.96 metres, the 400HT offers a layout that can accommodate up to twelve people. The Aquador 400HT's favourite place for most owners will definitely be the spacious saloon and the well-equipped galley. The modern kitchen offers various options for hob, oven, fridge and freezer. The dining table can be converted into an additional sleeping area.

The helm station of the 400 HT is equipped with a 12-inch chart plotter, which can be optionally extended to up to two 16-inch multifunction displays. The controls are well positioned and offer convenient control of the boat. The two roof hatches can be opened electrically and provide fresh air in the cockpit. If you want even more fresh air, you can open a particularly large window to port and starboard.

You can read the full test of the Aquador 400HT here soon.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
