With an impressive double premiere, the Beneteau and Alpine attracted particular attention at this year's Paris Nautic Show. For the first time, two of the best-known French brands joined forces to present a special edition that sets new standards in both the maritime and automotive sectors: the Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 Alpine Limited Edition.

Since its launch, the Gran Turismo 50 has been a style-defining model in Beneteau's sporty and luxurious range. With the Alpine Limited Edition, the line has not only been extended, but conceptually reinterpreted. The design follows the Japanese principles of Kanso - focussing on the essentials - and Yugen, the idea of subtle, harmonious beauty. This is reflected in flowing exterior lines, generous transitions between interior and exterior areas and a clearly structured, calm interior design that creates an atmosphere of serenity despite all the sportiness.

It was precisely this purism that opened up the creative dialogue between Beneteau and Alpine, according to the shipyard. For decades, Alpine has stood for technical precision, a passion for racing and an unobtrusive but immediately recognisable design language. The shared vision meant that elements that would previously have been expected in a sports car can now be found on board a 50-foot sports cruiser. At the same time, care was taken not to change the GT 50's maritime identity.

The new hull colour "Bleu Abysse" is particularly striking. The deep shimmering blue picks up on Alpine's iconic colour scheme, but its maritime implementation makes it both elegant and powerful. Subtle Alpine codes set the tone in the interior: high-quality textures, carbon-inspired surfaces and precise detailing. It is immediately apparent that two design teams have worked hand in hand here. One highlight is the specially developed steering wheel in the cockpit, whose shape and feel are directly reminiscent of Alpine sports cars. This not only makes the steering position look sportier, but is also intended to give the skipper a more intense driving experience.

Technical effort behind the special edition

Over 300 components have been completely redeveloped or adapted for maritime use. Materials from the automotive sector were modified, tested and reworked to meet the requirements for weather resistance, safety and long-term stress at sea. The development departments of both brands therefore describe the project not only as a creative collaboration, but also as a genuine industrial adventure.

However, the presentation of the GT 50 Alpine Limited Edition was not the only premiere at the joint stand. Alpine also presented its new all-electric A390 sports fastback to the general public for the first time. While orders have already been possible in France for several weeks, the unveiling in Paris marked the official start of the international presentation.

Anyone who missed the world premiere in Paris will have another opportunity at the beginning of 2026: the Gran Turismo 50 Alpine Limited Edition will also be exhibited at boot Düsseldorf. Beneteau is planning a generous trade fair presence in the centre of Hall 6.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
