A four-deck boat welded from steel and aluminium was launched in Livorno, based on the vision of Azimut Benetti founder and president Paolo Vitelli and yacht designer Stefano Righini. The first B.Yond 37M is powered by an innovative e-mode hybrid system from Siemens Energy, which offers four drive modes and massively reduces CO2 (24 per cent) and NOx (85 per cent) emissions.
Owners with a pronounced explorer's drive will probably be most interested in the Eco Transfer mode, in which only one MAN V12 propulsion unit from two generators and two main engines ensures an efficient cruising speed of nine knots and a sensational range of 8,200 nautical miles.
In full-electric mode, the 380-tonner with an interior volume of 395 gross tonnes runs whisper-quietly or provides up to twelve hours of power autonomy at anchor. Of the nine B.Yond-37M units sold to date, four yachts with hybrid drive are travelling the world. "Goga" is celebrating its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and will also be on show at the MYS.
