Attention to detail is at the top of the list for the designer of the Silverline 1500. These include, for example, a pull-out television, individually adjustable air temperature in each room, a hydraulically lowerable appliance rack and mirror or a globe as a lamp.
The latter immediately shows interested parties the sailing area, as the shipyard associates the globe with the seaworthiness of its Silverline 1500.
To fulfil these requirements, safety, robustness, reliability and range must be right. To guarantee the last two points, the shipyard installs diesel technology from Iveco (2 x 230 hp) and four tanks with a total volume of 4500 litres.
At the recommended cruising speed of a good 8 kn (1700 rpm) and a fuel consumption of around 2.8 litres per second minus 15 % reserve, the crew and boat will cover a distance of 1377 nm.
An acceptable value. If you are travelling at a canal speed of around 5 knots, you can travel over 3000 nm on one tank of fuel. At this speed, the boat travels well in a straight line, unless, as on the test day on the "Prinses Margriet Kanaal", you encounter many commercial vessels that create their own current in the canal.
At this point, you have to correct your course from time to time, but this is not atypical in this type of water. Even at higher speeds, the boat remains stable in calm water.
