Initially, "La Datcha" will sail to the pearls of the Indian Ocean with up to twelve guests. After diving and water sports activities off the Seychelles, Maldives and Madagascar, the contrasting programme in South Kamchatka will follow in April 2021. Then the ski boots will be warmed up in the mudroom and the two Eurocopter B3s will swarm out for heliskiing trips. The single-engine model, now marketed by Airbus Helicopters as the H125, set a world record in 2005 by landing on the summit of Mount Everest (8848 metres). The B3 is a favourite aircraft in heliskiing circles.
The 77-metre-long Explorer with lines by Azure Yacht Design is part of the La Datcha Tinkoff Collection, the holiday portfolio of the Russian owner of the same name. On offer are chalets in the Alps or coastal properties in Cabo San Lucas or Forte dei Marmi in Mexico, which were furnished by Vasily Shprits like the first floating member. There is a fixed rod plan for "La Datcha". The vision behind it: "Charter guests should embark on the journey of a lifetime to places others cannot reach - exclusive adventures to share with friends and family in comfort, style and safety." The CEO of the Tinkoff Collection is the former Italian professional cyclist Stefano Feltrin, who previously managed the Saxo-Tinkoff cycling team. Edmiston acts as the charter agency.
Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting, was delighted: "In a year that has challenged us all with COVID, new work measures and travel restrictions, it's incredible to see 'La Datcha' setting off on the adventures she was built for."
