Edwin van der Mark has given a lot of thought to the super yacht of the future. The Dutch concept developer created an interesting hybrid of submarine and large yacht with his 103 metre long "Hybrid 2021" design. When travelling above the waterline, various hatches in the stern can be opened to allow the owner and his guests to enjoy life on board in the fresh sea air in the spacious beach club.
The owner's penthouse occupies the two upper decks, with a helipad and hangar above. As is usual for a yacht of this size, there is also a cinema room, indoor pool and gym on board. All hatches and doors connected to the decks are double-sealed, watertight and can withstand high pressures. A moon pool in the keel allows the launch of a mini-submarine and the disembarkation of divers during an underwater voyage.
The yacht is intended to be a model of environmental friendliness and sustainability: Fuel cells provide the propulsion energy, hydrogen and oxygen are generated directly on board and also cover the need for breathing air and water.
