The Polish shipyard Galeon Yachts is showcasing a new model at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The 570 SKY expands the SKY range and is aimed at owners who wish to combine a sporty look with long-distance cruising capabilities.
The key feature of the 570 SKY is ‘Beach Mode’. This involves fold-out side balconies that extend hydraulically, widening the usable width from 4.83 to 6.86 metres. Added to this is a sliding galley window that opens towards the cockpit. With the fold-down bar, the galley effectively becomes part of the outdoor area.
The upper cockpit is designed in a coupé style. The console can be folded away electrically, giving the silhouette a sleek, streamlined appearance when not in use. An electric sunroof above the cockpit completes the design. According to the manufacturer, this design emphasises the model’s sporty character. The rear section of the cockpit can be used in a variety of ways and adapted to different requirements.
There are three cabins below deck; Galeon intends to announce the exact layout during the boat show. The interior design is by Insitu & Partners and is called the Atlantic Design Package. According to the shipyard, it is designed for longer cruises and is intended to offer the appropriate level of comfort.
Two Volvo Penta engines, each delivering up to 900 PS, power the yacht, giving a combined output of 1,800 PS. The fuel tank has a capacity of 2,200 litres. The shipyard has not yet disclosed the top speed or range; these figures are due to be announced during the boat show in Fort Lauderdale.
