The new Greenline 42 is already under construction and is due to be launched in early 2026. The new model promises greater efficiency, higher speed and more extensive customisation options than previous Greenline yachts.
The Greenline 42 benefits from a revised underwater hull, which was newly developed by the Micad design office. The optimised hull enables a top speed of 30 knots with the standard engine configuration of two 250 hp diesel engines (184 kW).
A key element of the new yacht is the advanced sixth-generation H-Drive system. This hybrid system from Greenline optimises battery charging and enables silent electric manoeuvring in port. The combination of a more efficient hull and improved drive system promises both higher performance and lower consumption.
A trademark of all Greenline yachts is the extensive solar equipment, which has been further expanded on the 42. Four additional solar panels on the superstructure roof increase the total number to ten modules with a maximum output of 4.1 kilowatts.
This solar power is sufficient to operate all on-board consumers and to charge the batteries even without shore power or running engines. The energy generated is stored in the on-board batteries and can be monitored by the owner via the Greenline app. This data collection is not only used for monitoring purposes, but also flows into a system: Greenline is planning an annual award for owners who have generated a particularly large amount of solar energy or have driven electrically for many hours.
Designer Marco Casali, who has already been responsible for other Greenline models, has designed both the exterior and the interior of the 42. The interior concept offers more flexibility than previous models. There are various layouts to choose from in the aft cockpit, including a lowerable rear platform and completely removable furniture.
Another new feature is a lounge area on the foredeck above the anchor hatches, similar to the larger Greenline 58. In the saloon, lowerable windows in the stern area next to the galley ensure better ventilation and create a good connection to the cockpit.
Below deck, the Greenline 42 offers various layout options. Owners can choose between a second guest toilet, a walk-in wardrobe or a separate dressing table in the owner's cabin.
Marco Casali has developed three different styles for the interior design, all based on a natural colour palette and renewable materials. The basic layouts remain true to the classic Greenline design, but the details have been further developed.
The customisation options for the Greenline 42 are particularly extensive. In addition to the choice of cabin layout, cupboards and toilets, customers can also choose between various refrigerators and freezers in different formats. An additional sofa in the saloon is also available as an option. Greenline therefore describes the 42 as its most customisable model to date.
The Greenline 42 follows the corporate philosophy of "Responsible Yachting". This concept goes beyond the hybrid drive and the solar panels and encompasses the entire construction process. The sandwich core used to reinforce the hull is made from recycled PET plastic. The lamination is carried out using a vacuum infusion process, which ensures precise material utilisation.
The shipyard only uses vinyl ester resin, which enables a five-year guarantee against osmosis. In addition, the technicians are experimenting with natural fibres and environmentally friendly resins for boat building.
