H2-Yachts a division of the Swiss H2-Industries AG, together with designer Michael Stusch and the motion code: blue team, developed a 62-metre displacement vessel with fuel cell propulsion powered by 140,000 litres of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier, or LOHC for short. This liquid hydrogen carrier transports hydrogen into fuel cells, which, according to H2-Yachts, are responsible for generating up to one megawatt of electrical energy.
Voith-Schneider propellers provide propulsion and enable dynamic positioning. Solar panels with a total surface area of 860 square metres are distributed across the decks and, just like the wind turbines integrated into the exterior, charge battery banks for energy-autonomous operation. Four pools, two waterfalls flowing from deck to deck, large beach club terraces and a helipad are just some of the interesting features of the modern design.
