The Itama-70 project, which was presented at this year's boot Düsseldorf, is the result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee, headed by Piero Ferrari, and the Group's engineering department. The exterior design was created by Vallicelli Design and the interiors by IdeaeItalia.
Based on the innovations that first introduced with the Itama 54 The Itama 70 also has a large sun pad at the bow, perfectly integrated into the deck, as well as side windows that extend along the entire length of the hull and are intended to give the profile an elegant, modern look.
The layout of the decks has been designed to ensure maximum comfort on board and outstanding cosiness. At the stern of the main deck, the large sunpad - an Itama trademark - on the starboard side is complemented by a practical gangway used for boarding.
The U-shaped dining area has a teak-topped table positioned in front of the wet bar module with sink and fridge. If desired, this module can be transformed into a chaise longue by adding a cushion, creating even more seating space in the living area.
The helm station on the port side offers comfortable seating for two people and excellent visibility. Access to the bow area is centred to the windscreen; smoother and more functional movement on board is achieved by having the entrance to the lower deck entirely on the starboard side.
The lower deck comprises three cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms, a corner galley and a dinette. The owner's cabin is located in the stern - an important feature for a 70-foot open yacht - while the VIP cabin is located in the bow.
On the port side, the third guest cabin has a queen-size bed at right angles to the keel and an en suite bathroom that can also be used as a day toilet. The entire lower deck benefits from excellent natural light thanks to the hull glazing; in addition, the walkways on board are improved by completely eliminating steps on this level.
Finally, a single crew cabin with separate bathroom can be installed on request, which is accessible from the aft sunpad.
The Itama 70 is equipped with two MAN V12 engines: The standard configuration uses a pair of MAN V12s with 1,400 hp each, which corresponds to a top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots. In the optional version, the yacht is equipped with two MAN V12s with 1,550 hp each, for a maximum speed of 39 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots.
