Steel yacht with hybrid drive: Sturier's new DME 60 achieves long ranges and offers plenty of space on board
Go anywhere, that's what many yachts want to be able to do today. With Sturier's Dutchman 60 Explorer, you might think so. One minute the shipyard is celebrating its 100th anniversary, the next the DME 60 design comes out.
Will this be the entry into the superyacht segment? The shipyard itself is looking forward to a hybrid drive from Volvo Penta and thus long ranges. The hull is made of steel or aluminium. There is plenty of space on the flybridge, where the dinghy is parked.
Everything on board is a little more stable, from the anchor winch to the steering gear. So the ships are in good shape for the next 100 years.
