The well thought-out room layout is particularly striking. The M14 offers three cabins with king-size beds and two full bathrooms. The highlight below deck is a suite cabin that can be converted into a dining area if required - making optimum use of the space. Large hull windows provide plenty of light. So far there are only renderings, but if the finished boat also has such windows, we will be thrilled.
The clever design also continues outside: a double sun deck invites you to relax and there is practical storage space in the stern. This means there is always enough space on deck. There are also fold-out Side partswhich further extend the available space.
If you don't want to miss your favourite series while at anchor, you can extend a TV from the hardtop - in the style of larger yachts such as the Pardo 72. In general, Nuva seems to have looked around at the competition: The steps at the rear are strongly reminiscent of models from Italy. When asked, the shipyard admits that they were inspired. The bow also shows parallels to the Invictus brand.
Nuva relies on high-quality materials and excellent workmanship for the interior. Handcrafted details give the boat a sophisticated touch. The mixture of modern surfaces and stylish design creates an exclusive yet cosy atmosphere.
The M14 is technically state-of-the-art. The systems are easily accessible and user-friendly, which facilitates use and maintenance. Of course, there is also a large television and plenty of storage space in each cabin.
There is space for three people at the helm. Two large plotters provide a good overview of the systems, and a joystick is available as an option. The Formula 1-inspired steering wheel is particularly eye-catching. Shipyard boss Andres Cadenas (formerly CEO at Bavaria) laughs when asked whether it will also look like this on the production boat. "We want to do something extraordinary. If everything works out, we'll offer the steering wheel in exactly the same way," he comments.
The M14 comes with up to 1200 hp on the shaft. There is a choice of inboard (2x 600 hp) or outboard (2x 600 hp or 3x 400 hp).
Alongside the M14, Nuva also presented the new M11 Cabin, which is based on the existing M11 hull but has been given 20 cm more freeboard. In addition, the M8 Cabin is a completely new model designed to close the gap between the M6 and the M9 - both in terms of price and size.
All in all, the boat could be an exciting alternative to the well-known shipyards. Only a test can show how the workmanship, the sailing characteristics and the overall impression of the boat will be. The shipyard is endeavouring to have the boat ready by the Cannes Yacht Festival in 2025. In terms of price, the boat could be a challenge: it is expected to cost around 667,000 euros including three Mercury Verados with 400 hp each and taxes. The 5.7-litre engines alone would cost around 102,000 euros. But then they would only be in a box on the driveway. Other manufacturers are significantly more expensive.
Nuva is a Spanish shipyard based in Barcelona and specialises in luxury day cruisers and yachts. The company emphasises innovative design and high-quality workmanship. Particularly noteworthy: Nuva produces as much as possible in-house, even the hulls are made in its own production facility near Barcelona. In addition to classic motorboats, the shipyard also launched a motorised sailboat, the Nuva MS6, in 2016. However, this model is no longer in production - more than a handful have not made it onto the water anyway.
