The Greek shipyard Omikron Yachts continues to build on its success. After the OT-60 won the European Powerboat Awards in the Long Range category, the company is now announcing its new flagship.

Same concept

The OT-60 has made a name for itself with its combination of efficiency and comfort. With a range of 1,000 nautical miles at 8 knots and a fuel consumption of just 1.25 litres per nautical mile, she sets standards in her class. This efficiency is the result of the hull design by naval architect Juan K, which combines elements of sailing yachts with the comfort of motor yachts.

At 80 feet, the new OT-80 will be significantly larger than the OT-60 and is intended to further develop the concept of the efficient long-range cruiser and position it in an even more demanding market segment. Omikron Yachts is once again working with designer Lorenzo Argento and naval architect Juan K on the development.

Sustainable future of yacht building

As with the OT-60, the focus is on comfort, efficiency and safety on long journeys. Nikolas Dendrinos, Chairman of Olympic Marine, emphasises: "The OT-80 is not just a larger model. It puts our vision for the sustainable future of yacht building under a magnifying glass." Expectations are high after the success of the debut model and the company is working hard to fulfil them.
