A joint venture presents a new organic deck covering under the company and brand name Tesumo.
For several years, the Lürssen shipyard, deck specialist Wolz Nautic and wood manufacturer Timura from the southern Harz region have been researching an environmentally friendly alternative to teak. The new wood should be visually comparable to teak and be grown sustainably. After logging, it is heat-treated, impregnated and hardened in a patented process. According to Tesumo, this results in teak-like properties such as low maintenance and high durability and resilience. The decisive advantage is the reliable availability - even in customised sizes.
