The Italian shipyard group launched construction number one of its new 60-metre series at the Viareggio site, the exterior and lines of which were developed in cooperation with Ron Holland. The interior of the aluminium ketch, which displaces 570 tonnes, was created by French designer Christian Liaigre.

Seahawk" is the first Perini Navi yacht with carbon fibre shrouds and stays. The 62 and 52 metre high masts were made from aluminium by the shipyard's own mast builders, while the booms are made from carbon fibre.

A hydraulic lifting keel reduces the draught from 12.30 (!) to 4.30 metres and, when extended, provides the righting moment required for a total sail area of 2125 square metres.

The shipyard group is currently working on two further formats from the new series. Construction number two, a slip with a 75 metre high carbon mast, will be launched next year, followed by the third 60 metre yacht in 2015.
