Firmly anchored in the portfolio of the Italian Ferretti Group, the Pershing brand has been synonymous with uncompromising performance for almost four decades. Target group: maritime petrolheads with a penchant for high speeds. With the GTX series, the Italians wanted to expand their customer base and created the Sport Utility Yacht (SUY): models that are as safe, easy and sporty to drive as their robust counterparts on the road. With the exception of the Pershing 140, all Pershings are built in Mondolfo.
The SUY kicked off in 2023 with the 35 metre long and 34 knot fast GTX116. One year later, the GTX80 with equally curvy lines, but now by Vallicelli Design, caused a sensation. Above all, however, the compact SUY continued the domestication and relied neither on surface nor waterjet propulsion. The reasons: easier operation for owner-captains and more space aft on the water thanks to a smaller engine compartment.
The GTX70, now in the water, also relies on the efficient pod drive from Sweden. The three 1200 IPS units from Volvo Penta deliver thrust from three D13 units, each with 900 hp (662 kW), into the water. This should enable the 21.88 metre long and 5.42 metre wide GRP glider to reach a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots.
The striking lines of Vallicelli Design are characterised by the semi-oval superstructure with sport bridge, as the flat, uncovered fly is called. As with its little sister, the bulwarks are slightly convex and the bow is almost vertical by Pershing standards. The fold-out side terraces in the stern, which extend the usable aft area to 23 square metres, are a characteristic feature. The hydraulically lowerable bathing platform allows easy access to the water and can also be used for launching the tender or jet skis.
In the interior, Pershing and Vallicelli have opted for an open-plan concept. The main deck combines the cockpit, saloon and galley into one continuous area. The galley acts as a connecting element between the exterior and interior via a retractable glass panel. The saloon with the two L-shaped sofas facing each other benefits from the high hull-width ceiling height.
There are three cabins on the lower deck, each with its own bathroom. The 16 square metre sports bridge is divided into three areas: Sunbed, dining area and steering position. An optional electric bimini canopy with carbon supports is available here.
