Powerboat of the Year: Windy SR40 - an exceptional sports boat

The Norwegian shipyard Windy presents the SR40, an extraordinary sports boat from the pen of designer Espen Øino. After almost two years of development, the new model combines several components.

When one of the world's most renowned superyacht designers brings his expertise to a 40-foot sports boat, you can expect great things: with the Windy SR40, Espen Øino has created a boat that impresses in every respect. The traditional Norwegian shipyard worked for almost two years on the development of this special model, placing particular emphasis on details that make all the difference.

Security and protection at the highest level

The well thought-out safety concept of the SR40 is particularly striking. The shipyard attached great importance to the height of the freeboard, which noticeably increases the feeling of safety on board. But that's not all: the helm position is optimally protected by a windscreen that is completely raised and a cabin that can be closed at the sides. This design not only guarantees maximum comfort and safety for the driver, but also reliably protects all passengers from spray and wind.

Flexibility on and below deck of the Windy SR40

On deck, the SR40 proves its versatility: flexible sun loungers in the bow area with adjustable backrests invite you to relax, while a clever, convertible sofa in the stern offers comfortable seating for three people. The spacious walkaround deck area allows unhindered movement and provides additional safety when mooring or while travelling.

Below deck, the boat consistently continues its strengths: a complete cabin with its own bathroom impresses with its well thought-out concept. The centrepiece is an innovative double bed that can be converted into a comfortable sofa if required. The Windy SR 40 is also available with both outboard engines and inboard drives, which accommodates the different preferences and purposes of the owners.
