The shipyard from the Naples area is returning to its roots - after all, it all began with the A series. Arcadia celebrated the world premiere of the futuristic two-decker A85 at boot Düsseldorf in 2010. Although the A96 is almost 3.50 metres longer overall at 29.34 metres, its hull length does not exceed the 24-metre mark either. This means that the GRP semi-glider is still in the CE cosmos. The clear exterior lines of the shipyard's own design team result in non-nested decks that run on one level. The owner's suite occupies the forward main deck, while four guest cabins are located one level below.
Large sliding glass doors on both sides of the saloon are typical of Arcadia, inviting nature inside and reducing the running times of the air conditioning system. A novelty for the Sicilian shipyard are the folding bulwarks in the stern, which optionally also widen the saloon. The large cubature is offset by extensive outdoor areas with the sun deck as the number one al fresco zone. Igor Lobanov and his team came up with the proposals for the interior design. Arcadia asked the Barcelona-based studio to fill spaces with natural materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible and to create a design with soft lines that are pleasant to the touch.
Arcadia's engineers have optimised the weight and claim to have increased comfort through structural calculations of the composite shell, carbon reinforcements and the extensive use of infusion technology. Four (!) Volvo IPS 1200 units are to help the 130-tonner reach a top speed of 24 knots. The photovoltaic package is standard for the southern Italians. According to the shipyard, solar panels on the roof and batteries ensure that the generators are also idle for up to nine hours at night. The official debut of the 29.34 metre long and 7.87 metre wide A96 is planned for the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2023.
