The Dutch shipyard Super Lauwersmeer is expanding its Discovery series with a new top-of-the-range model. The Discovery 48 OC will celebrate its world premiere at the "Hiswa te Water" boat show in Lelystad in September 2025.
Compared to the predecessor model Discovery 47 OC, the yacht has grown in length by 0.25 metres and in width by 0.19 metres. The owner's cabin is located in the foredeck, with two further cabins to port and starboard offering space for children and guests. As an option, one of the cabins can also be converted into an office.
The saloon has a large television that can also be turned towards the cockpit. A fully equipped galley with modern appliances and an additional refrigerator ensures comfort on board. Air conditioning and underfloor heating ensure pleasant temperatures all year round.
The cockpit has an L-shaped bench seat. At the stern is the so-called "BeachDeck" - a spacious bathing platform with an outdoor shower, parasol, awning and sound system. A special bracket allows the use of an outdoor barbecue.
A huge storage space offers room for water sports equipment such as underwater scooters, jetboards, e-scooters and bicycles. Charging connections and a compressor complete the equipment. There is even space on board for an inflatable swimming island.
The Discovery 48 OC was developed in close collaboration with a young family. Their wishes were incorporated directly into the development - from the built-in games console to the wine refrigerator.
The first three examples of the Discovery 48 OC are already under construction. Interested parties can view the new flagship from 3 to 7 September 2025 at the "Hiswa te Water" at berth B14.
Super Lauwersmeer is a Dutch shipyard based in Noardburgum. The company specialises in the construction of steel yachts. The Discovery series includes various models with different cockpit versions.
