A few decades ago, Feadship was considered a rather conservative address. In the meantime, the Dutch shipyard has established itself as one of the most innovative players on the superyacht scene with several locations and has now developed the 109 metre-long "Freddie Gump" project in collaboration with several brokers. The name is a combination of Freddie Mercury and Forrest Gump - the two stars and characters served as marketing personas for the design, which was carried out by Feadship's in-house design studio, De Voogt. While the Dutch company is still somewhat reticent when it comes to technical data, some of the extraordinary features of "Freddie Gump" are already known.
The stern, for example, has an exorbitant beach club which, according to the De Voogt designers, has almost four times the volume of the beach club on the 83.50 metre "Savannah". Receptions or parties with over 200 guests are possible here.
Things are a little more intimate, however, in a room whose exact location is not revealed. Somewhere in the hull of "Freddie Gump", the layout provides for a private party room that guests have to find themselves. It is to be located near the bow and will not be specified. This is definitely aimed at the persona of Freddie Mercury, while the table tennis table on the foredeck refers to Forrest Gump - after all, he plays on the US ping pong team in the film. However, as the wind would have a significant influence on the game at sea, the table is placed in a glass cylinder on board the unusual yacht concept. However, the court for the larger balls has to be positioned at right angles to the direction of travel: Tennis can also be played in the bow; this court is to be limited by a net construction.
Those in the mood for the fine arts and cultural entertainment will love the piano lounge with panoramic views. In total, "Freddie Gump" can accommodate up to 22 guests and is therefore likely to be built in accordance with the Passenger Yacht Code.
