Boarncruiser 1280 Elegance Sedan: barely on the market and already has enthusiastic fans. We had the pleasure of testing the boat together with Henk Hokwerda.

Wies Hokwerda, the boss of De Boarnstream, advertises in her brochure with the words:

"The Elegance 1280 has proven to be an immediate success. Already within the first 3 months after introduction, three were sold to new owners",

which loosely translates as: The 1280 Elegance proved to be an immediate success, with three boats sold to new customers within the first three months of the model's launch.

A boat that also convinces senior boss Henk Hokwerda, as he and his wife Houkje go on tour with their own 1280 Elegance in the summertime. He says:

"The boat is perfect for us, we have a high level of comfort on board and can easily take our grandchildren with us in the centre cabin."

We were allowed to use this family boat with him for the manoeuvres...

Ralf Marquard discovered his enthusiasm for boating on the tranquil Aller, first with inflatable boats and later with a 6-meter cabin cruiser. His electrical engineering studies at HAW Hamburg took him from the southern Heidekreis (Lower Saxony) to the Hanseatic city. Ralf Marquard has been working for the BOOTE editorial team since 1997, where he trained as a test editor. He tests both small inflatable boats and larger yachts. His personal boat is a 4.50 meter long, self-built wooden boat with a 50 hp outboard motor. In 2007, he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief at BOOTE.
