Port Adriano on the south-west tip of Mallorca: at 37 knots, we sail over everything that comes in front of our bow. We are sailing a V-Class boat from the British shipyard Princess. The deep V-hull translates the power of the two 1400 hp MAN engines into an absolutely sporty and responsive driving experience.
First and foremost, the V-Class differs from the other models in the
The vehicle is equipped with a hardtop that is open or closed towards the cockpit.
The boats vary in length between 40 and 65 feet (20.32 metres).
Anyone who now thinks that sportiness and the 65 feet of our test boat are contradictory only has to compare the net weight and the engine power. Then you get a figure that is usually found on smaller boats: 10.9 kg per horsepower.
This puts Princess in an absolute top position, which one would rather expect from competitors from Italy who are predestined for this, such as Pershing, who, in contrast to the conventional shaft drive of the Princess V65, offer surface drives. In other words: conventional is also fast.
