The Sealine C330 is available in theSport version open aft or, like our test boat, with a closed deck superstructure as a cruiser - which is what the C stands for. The choice of engines is limited toVolvo Pentaof which either one or two diesel units with Z-drives provide the propulsion.
Depending on the weather and your mood, the rear front remains open or closed
UnderDeck two cabins and a bathroom offer four people - preferably a family of four - the necessary comfort for longer trips. Our test boat has no weaknesses in terms of overall workmanship, everything is of a high standard.
Two motors also guarantee manoeuvrable behaviour when one gear is in forward gear and the other in reverse. If a bow thruster (extra) is also fitted, neither crosswinds nor crosscurrents cause any problems when mooring and casting off. With both gears in forward or reverse, full circles at slow speed do not exceed 1 ½ boat lengths.
The C330 completes the 180° turns at full speed within just under three boat lengths
The slow passages we travel at 6 knots (1200 rpm) so that the waves generated by the boat do not reach a threatening height. During the transition from displacement to planing speed - drives fully trimmed and trim tabs in the zero position - the foresight is maintained except for a brief moment. We measure the minimum planing speed at 17 knots.
At full throttle, the engines remain 100 rpm below the maximum speed and the maximum speed logged in the GPS is a good 30 knots. One tank of fuel is enough for a theoretical non-stop journey of 523 nm plus 15% reserve at slow speed.
AsEconomic gliding we determine an engine-friendly 3200 rpm, whereby a distance of up to 164 nm is possible before the reserve is used. Our measurement thus corresponds to the shipyard's specification, which defines speeds of 3150 rpm as"Eco ride" has shown. Nevertheless, the C330 does not fulfil our range requirement of 200 nm plus reserve.
However, the sound pressure in the saloon is measured with the rear front closed andFull throttle does not exceed 79 dB(A) and 85 dB(A) in the cockpit. During the tighter circles, the C330 leans towards the centre of the curve, gradually brakes on its own down to the lower gliding speed and immediately picks up speed again after steering out of the curve.
Thanks to Transparent sliding roof the side view remains good over the port side and in the opposite direction you only have to bend down a little to be able to see under the frame of the side door.
The full speed of the180° turns The C330 completes this manoeuvre in just under three boat lengths without the hull rocking or hooking. If the trim of the drives remains in the
in the optimum position, everything is still connected with a settling movement.
At theSlalom test we bring theTest boat clearly noticeable but harmless swinging over the longitudinal axis. If the rudder is jerked, it moves in the desired direction after a short pendulum movement without any jitter. The skipper sits on a neatly dimensioned bucket seat.
Except for theFold-up seat cushion it is not adjustable.Criticism applies to the interior structure, as the port seat bolster presses uncomfortably. Otherwise, everything fits, as the staggered dashboard is well equipped with instruments and is easy to read. The controls are also where they belong. Passengers sit opposite on the L-shaped bench seat at the table.
A largeCockpit floor hatch provides access to the engine compartment, a step assists access to the engine compartment.Access. You can reach everything you need for inspection and service. The technical and electrical installations are perfect. The batteries are well stored in boxes, and the power is supplied at the touch of a button via relays under theDriver's seat switched.
This is also where the thermal fuses are located. An electronics compartment located under the driving position is otherwise only found on larger boats. Apart from the good handling characteristics, the boat also scores points with a sliding door next to the driver, through which he can quickly reach the wide and low side deck. The anPort is high and narrower.
This means that the skipper can only tie up the boat to the spring cleat. We rate the fact that the fuel pre-filters in the engine compartment are fitted with water alarm sensors - like the manual bilge pump and the fire extinguishing system - with"good". A compass is standard, the echo sounder is not, which leads to devaluation.
Except for theBathing platformWhile only the backrest of the rear bench seat offers support, the strategically positioned holding options inside and outside are good. Instead of a permanently mounted bathing ladder with grab handle, there areTest boat one for plugging in; however, there is no emergency step.
The easiest and safest way to enter the boat is aft via thePlatform. The living area below deck is equipped with a bow cabin, a neat bathroom with shower and WC and a separate underfloor cabin. In view of the space available, there is no feeling of claustrophobia anywhere. The room dimensions, standing and seating heights are just right, and you are always surrounded byLight flooded. Sealine offers plenty of storage space on and below deck.
The salon is also a success withDinette, driving position and galley. The latter also functions as a bar for guests on the cockpit bench seat when the rear window is folded up.
Conclusion:
The C330 has enough space for four people - even to spend a longer holiday on it. The boat's pleasant handling characteristics make it suitable for everyone. We were impressed by the window fronts and the side door next to the driver. With its many good ideas, the C330 offers a lot of what you would expect from larger boats.
