The Virtue Yachts shipyard is entering the luxury sports boat and tender market with the new V14. The 13.19 metre long model with hardtop superstructure celebrated its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival. With an entry-level price of 640,000 euros, the V14 positions itself as a challenger to established brands such as Vanquish, Pardo, Delta and Fjord.
According to the manufacturer, the boat designed by Guido de Groot combines Italian design with Scandinavian expertise. The hull is based on the familiar V10 series and utilises so-called petestep technology with double stepping. This hull shape is intended to ensure greater efficiency and more stable handling, even in rough seas. The vacuum-infused GRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic) construction keeps the weight at a low 8,674 kg.
In the standard version, the V14 comes with two Mercury V10 outboards with 400 hp (294 kW) each. Virtue also offers optional motorisations with 2 x 600 hp or 3 x 400 hp. With these drive options, the boat should reach speeds of over 50 knots (92 km/h). The 900-litre tank ensures a corresponding range. The standard bow thruster contributes to manoeuvrability in the harbour.
With a width of 3.98 metres, the V14 offers generous deck space. The cockpit features a U-shaped seating area with table, a full wet bar with sink and refrigerator as well as several sunbathing areas. An electrically retractable terrace comes as standard. There is another large sun deck in the bow.
The standard equipment also includes a Garmin chart plotter with 16-inch screen and depth gauge, a retractable anchor system, shore power connection and extensive upholstery inside and out. The V14 can be optionally equipped with Seakeeper stabilisation, air conditioning, generator, ice cube maker, lithium batteries, RGB underwater lighting and 360-degree cameras.
Below deck, the V14 offers two cabins with sleeping space for four people. The forward cabin has a spacious double bed measuring 200 x 210 cm. In the stern there is another cabin with single beds that can be converted into a double bed. Other features include a storage space in the stern measuring 2 x 2 x 2 metres and a special garage for a Seabob underwater scooter.
Virtue emphasises the possibility of semi-customised interior design. Each boat is tested on the water before delivery to ensure performance and quality.
