The Wajer 55 impresses with its elongated, low silhouette with continuous lines from the bow to the slim windscreen with carbon fibre frame to the bathing platform. Viewed from above, the deck layout corresponds to classic runabouts of the sixties, only in XXL format. Compared to the previous model, around 90 per cent of the yacht has been redesigned and now fits into the design line of the larger Wajer 77 and the smaller 44.
The deck layout offers plenty of functionality and cosiness. Two tables, high-quality upholstery and a raised seating position on the main deck provide a comfortable view to the outside. Spacious sun loungers on the foredeck and aft deck round off the luxury day cruiser character.
The Wajer 55's helm station is completely surrounded by the windscreen and combines the latest Garmin technology, four customised seats and a Volvo Penta joystick control for comfortable manoeuvring. An optional Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) automatically keeps the yacht on course and in position, regardless of wind and current.
Innovative functions such as a self-inflating fender system and a retractable bathing platform can be controlled via touchscreen.
The concealed anchor gear mounted in the foredeck can be extended electrically if required. An optional gyro stabiliser reduces rolling and increases comfort at anchor. The Wajer 55 can also be configured as a tender or escort boat for superyachts.
Below deck, the Wajer 55 has a well-equipped galley with fridge, sink, hob, coffee maker and ice cube maker. A bathroom with washbasin, shower and toilet ensures comfort. The owner's cabin in the foredeck has a double bed, while the additional guest cabin is located amidships under the cockpit and is equipped with single beds.
There is a choice of either three Volvo Penta D6-IPS600 440 hp engines or alternatively three Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 480 hp engines. With the top-of-the-range engine, the boat should reach a top speed of 38 knots, with a cruising speed of 28 knots. According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption at 25 kn is around 150 litres/hour. The shipyard gives an average range of 390 nm.
