You can still dream after all. Of a huge saloon on a lavish main deck, for example, or a cathedral-like six metre ceiling height. This idea sketch offers two bars on one deck and a speed that matches the streamlined shape. With a maximum speed of 45 knots, the "XRay" dashes through the dream world, possibly turning it into reality together with a courageous owner.
At least that is what the XO Design Group hopes to achieve with this 91 metre long trimaran. The motorisation matches the design. Two MAN gensets are to deliver 18,000 kilowatts to the waves. The sleek design ensures that this is realised at speed. According to XO Design, the design was inspired by the anatomy of a manta ray.
"No compromises" is the motto in Offenbach am Main. And it's true, a bold designer can really make a lot of things happen in a car that is just under 100 metres long and 37 metres wide. "The objective of the concept study is the synthesis of exceptional space and high speed potential, the innovative design of which is intended to set standards," writes Kay-Uwe Witte from Offenbach, where XO Design had a highly motivated computer colour in magnificent renderings.
