The aluminium glider in mothership styling functions as a tender for anchorages far from the coast or as accommodation for guests or children travelling alone. The jet propulsion is fuelled by two MAN diesel engines, each with an output of 1,213 kW, for speeds of up to 30 knots. In hybrid mode, only one engine runs, powering one jet directly and the other via an electric motor with the 130 kW generator. In diesel-electric mode, the genset supplies the energy for the two 150-kilowatt electric motors from Siemens. In sensitive ecosystems, both waterjets run on the electric drive, which is then powered by a high-voltage battery. Perini's eco-tender is most economical and can travel up to 1000 nautical miles at a speed of eight knots. "This is the first superyacht tender with a pioneering hybrid drive," says Perini Navi's Luca Boldrini confidently. The sales director for motor yachts continues: "The initial impetus came from owners who were interested in technology and wanted a yacht that had as little impact on our environment as possible." Originally planned as a custom project, other owners have already expressed interest in the 25-metre hybrid tender.
