Pershing yachts have been built in Mondolfo on the Adriatic coast for 40 years. The current facility, which is located opposite the original shipyard, is much more than just a production centre: it is the place where form, function and technology meet tradition and the pioneering spirit of the founding fathers. It is also where the owners are received and advised and where the Pershing philosophy is explained to interested customers. The new shipyard buildings, which were designed by architect Sandro Sartini in the early 2000s, have been continuously expanded in line with Pershing's growing success and now cover an area of around 84,500 square metres, of which over 25,900 square metres are covered.
The shipyard's four buildings have 27 assembly bays, which are used for the parallel construction of 27 yachts. The fourth building, the latest extension to the production facility, was specially designed for the new GTX series. It has six new spaces where yachts up to 36 metres in length can be built. The site also has two large paint booths - one 597 square metres and the other 436 square metres - where the distinctive silver paint is applied. The painting process complies with the PPG cycle certified for the marine industry, giving the Pershing yachts a finish that easily rivals that of luxury cars.
A large test tank on the site (33 metres long, 7.5 metres wide and 2.3 metres deep) is used for technical checks before the yachts are launched. The test facility is necessary because the production site in Mondolfo and the harbour in Fano, where the Pershing yachts are launched, are not in the same place.
Always keen to surprise owners with new models, Pershing launched its first superyacht project in 2015 and expanded the production of its boats to the Ferretti Group's large yacht shipyard in Ancona, where the large models from CRN and Riva, for example, are also built. Mega yachts made of steel and aluminium with a length of over 40 metres can be built here. The Ancona shipyard is currently building the largest Pershing yacht with a length of 140 metres. Four units of this ship have been launched so far, and a fifth unit is currently under construction.
Pershing's first motor yacht defined the characteristic features of the brand and its future models. Performance, comfort and innovation: the almost 14 metre long Pershing 45 is an open motor yacht with three bathrooms and three cabins. Among other things, it was the first boat with a hydraulic gangway designed by Giovanni Besenzoni - today the market leader in gangways.
The Pershing 70 was another pioneering model from the shipyard. Equipped with a gas turbine, the yacht reached a top speed of 55 knots and was considered the benchmark for fast yachts in the early 1990s. The acceleration and top speed of the Pershing 70 reached unprecedented levels thanks to the turbine drive. A technological milestone.
The Pershing 115 represents the logical continuation of the propulsion technology of the smaller Pershing 70. The 115, designed by Fulvio De Simoni, was also powered by a gas turbine. The power was transferred to the water via jet propulsion. At 52 knots, it achieved speeds that were previously considered unthinkable for a production boat of this size. The 35-metre glider was sold ten times.
In 2015, Pershing began designing its first large yacht. She is not only the first true Pershing superyacht, but also the brand's first model with an aluminium hull. Special features include the raised wheelhouse and the beach club that is open on three sides. Four units of the 43-metre powerhouse have already been delivered, with number five to follow in 2026.
Generation X followed in 2016 with a model series based on four pillars: Design, technology, performance and lightweight construction. The visual and technical innovations include the striking air intakes and the significant weight reduction through the use of lightweight materials in the interior, resulting in a displacement of just 35 tonnes.
