H2 founder Jonny Horsfield developed the exterior based on Hesse's 55m steel platform. The Reymond Langton team worked with the decoration specialists from DKT Artworks to create an interior for twelve guests and with a room volume of 770 gross tonnes. Heesen fitted the two 1000 kilowatt eight-cylinder MTU engines with Tier III-compliant catalytic converters. This makes "Galvas" the second Heesen to fulfil the requirements for nitrogen oxide emissions that already apply in American waters. The propulsion package propels the 56 metre long steel-aluminium format to 15.5 knots. With a cruising speed of 13 knots and full tanks, this gives a range of 3100 nautical miles on the maiden voyage to the Mediterranean.
